Tom, from Telford, attended our training through an apprenticeship at one of our partner businesses and was keen to put his training into action. One day, while in a taxi, he chatted with the driver, who mentioned the struggles of running three taxis – keeping track of bookings, customers, payments, and routes was a nightmare. Tom, keen to help, decided to put his new app development skills to work.

Within just 3 weeks, Tom created an app that allowed the driver to manage his fleet more easily – tracking availability, shifts, GPS locations, and even identifying the busiest areas. When the driver started using the app, within 2 months his productivity increased by 30%, and he even offered Tom equity to develop more features as the fleet expanded to nearby towns.
